Matt Schofield's "Live Wire" Guitar Solo

This solo from Matt Schofield's live performance at TRI Studios is a prime example of his ability to craft a solo that builds through a wealth of melodic ideas. Notice the cool motif he starts with in bar 2 that targets the 9th and 6th of Bb7, which he revisits in bars 5, 6, and 10-11, while playing inspired blues and mixolydian licks inbetween. There's also plenty of improvisational ideas to steal here such as Matt's tasteful use of a major triad built from the b7 in bars 15 and 23 and his use of the maj7th in bar 30. Hope you enjoy the tab! Check out my performance of this solo at youtube.com/watch?v=oqzlVECp5oI and follow me on Twitter @halwit for more lessons and transcriptions!
